Night view of the Balmoral Hotel
This Weekly Snapshot is a night shot from Edinburgh, Scotland. The 109 year old Balmoral Hotel, formerly known as the North British Hotel, was originally built for the North British Railway Company. The hotel overlooks Waverly Station and the 190 foot clock tower, designed to be seen from afar by people hurrying to catch trains, is set two minutes fast.
About the author: Brian

Hi! We are Kaitlin and Brian, a couple of outdoor educators turned world travelers. We embarked on our first round the world adventure in May, 2011. After a year overseas, we've "settled" in Portland, Oregon to experience life on the west coast. This site documents our adventures here, there and everywhere. Our hope is that it inspires your inner-adventurer as well.
